I had the chance to spend some time in New York City this past week shooting, both personally and for clients, and it was so refreshing to spend so much time in front of the camera. I had such a blast just looking out for the small things and shooting strangers on the subway. One of the most amazing things that I realized was that every time I would see something it was for the first time, and I would try and shoot it as if it was completely new to me. Previously unknown. Some how I need to figure out how to approach everything that I shoot like this. I will be posting a bunch of the images every couple of days so make sure to check back.

I got a chance to spend a couple days in Vegas with friends at WPPI and was able to do some shooting. I will be out of town this coming week for some shoots in NYC and some personal shooting. We had an awesome time at our last camera club meeting and I just wanted to share a few... The assignment was a self portrait and I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone has from this last assignment. I just thought that I would just post a couple images from a recent shoot that we had some fun on. We ended up setting up a light at a friends dorm room at LSU and shot random people as they would come by... Here are just a couple of us from the shoot... Jen & I had an opportunity to help out a little bit this week at United Way working with Food Net to put together food boxes for areas that were hit hard with the hurricane. This week has been a bit crazy since the hurricane and it was great to get out and help a little bit. I just wanted to share a little bit since I didn't get a chance to shoot much this week until today. First off let me just say thanks to everyone who came tonight to join us for the first "camera club." I really had a great time meeting everyone and hearing about your passion for photography and learning. Sometimes it is nice to drop all of the formalities of the photography business and just talk with other people about their love for taking pictures. I hope that everyone comes out again next time and I will be keeping updates on the blog as soon as we decide all of the specifics. Yesterday Jen, Ben, & I headed down to New Orleans for what Monica thought was a "portfolio shoot" but in reality was for James to propose. The first couple are the actual proposal and after that are a couple from the "portfolio shoot." We had such an awesome time and congratulations to both of you! Blessings. Jason
It is hard to believe that I was in Kansas less than 36 hours ago and that our trip came to a close almost as quickly as it started. If I can think of one word to sum this trip up it is: refreshed. It was almost like though all of the shooting/editing/emailing I had begun to forget why I do this and every day became routine. I was reminded by everyone of my love for picking my camera and shooting the things that I pass up every day that are beautiful. Thanks again to Jamie & Ben for joining me on this trip and the Domingues family for treating us like their own family. Blessings. Jason

Ben & I decided to take a little time off today and headed down to New Orleans to shoot a bit on the street. We got this idea from an online website and wanted to see how people would react. The first one pretty much shows exactly what was going down... All of these were shot with my m8 & 35 or 50 Have a great weekend and enjoy.
