Fun

Its the little things in life...

Last week seemed to fly by quicker than most, but I did want to post a couple photos of two small things that brought a little excitement to my week. The first is a new little personalized product that I just got which is a Jason Cohen Photography iPod shuffle... It is a regular 1GB iPod shuffle with my logo on the front and my website on the back. I had been wanting something really personalized a while back and I was so excited to get it (see pics below and let me know what you think)!

Also Ben turned me on to Narwhal Co. who makes accessories out of recycled ties. I picked up this awesome wallet which I am loving. You can check them out and get one for yourself at http://narwhalcompany.com/

Come by the office today (Wednesday)!

So the last couple of days at the office have really been crazy. Jamie had a shoot for The Color Bar, which consisted of 15 of their hair stylists in the office and I had a shoot for a real estate client today. Needless to say, things have been almost a blur with lots of flashes going off and lots of people coming in and out (I promise there is a point in all of this). So I was talking to Jamie today and saying how it would be fun since we have all of the lighting setup to get random people to take a really quick shot.... So here is your chance.....

Tomorrow (Wednesday February 20th) I, Jamie, or Ben will be in the office shooting from 7:30-3 (I have a bridal then or else I would leave it open until 5). I would love for you to come by and take a quick headshot, body shot, or whatever you would like shot :) Feel free to call me at the office at 337.234.0910 or send me an email through the contact page, just I know that you are coming. The address to the office can be found no my contact page and feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Just a quick note... Anyone is more than welcome to come by. You can be a customer, friend of a past bride, photographer, or just someone who stumbled across my blog. This is merely a chance to have fun and for me to experiment a little bit with shooting something that was not completely planned. I know this seems somewhat random, but if you know me you shouldn't be too surprised :) I will ask that everyone signs a model release, just so I can post them on my blog.

Thanks in advance, and I hope that you come by tomorrow, or at least tell someone to come by!

Blessings. Jason

So here is a couple shots of me... I got some good news today... which I will will post about later, but to make a long story short I photographed an annual report that won an international award in this months "How" magazine. More to come soon....

Pups...

Ben and I hung out today and photographed his uncle's dogs. His uncle is currently in Shreveport waiting on a liver transplant and Ben wanted to be able to send him a print to cheer him up. Hopefully these will provide a little sunshine to his day. Here are a couple below and keep his uncle Bill in your prayers :) Blessings. Jason

Mona's Birthday!

Yesterday I got a text message that said, "Can you be at Great Harvest Bread Co. in 1 hour?" My first thought was that this must be some type of covert operation going on so I figured it would go over. As it turns out James blindfolded Monica and drove an hour (from Baton Rouge) to get some bread from Great Harvest as a birthday surprise. It was really good to see them and here are just a couple shots from yesterday... Happy Birthday Monica!!! Blessings. Jason

Mardi Gras!

I had the chance to take a little break this past week and hang out for the day with some good friends who just happen to live right off the parade route. I took out the Leica just to snap a couple random shots from the day and here are just a couple.. Blessings. Jason

Talk about pimp my ride!

l1000118.jpg

So this was quite possibly the most interesting thing I had ever laid my eyes on. The guy who was next to it had to show off his homemade margarita mixer, which consisted of two coolers, lots of glue, and a garbage disposal!

Corine & Bebe Tran!

So I had the opportunity yesterday to hang out with some great friends in New Orleans yesterday and shoot a family lifestyle session with their new baby boy Ethan. We had such a blast and it was so good to get out of the office for the day and hang out with some friends. Here are just a couple images from their session, and I am starting to do more of these and if you are interested in one let me know! Blessings. Jason

PS... There might be a bit of photos from this shoot... I just couldn't narrow them down!

Camping!

So one of my passions that I don't get to do very often is go backpacking and I had the opportunity this past weekend to join a couple friends and get out of town for a couple days. I can't remember the last time I took some time off and it was so nice to relax. The last morning we were there it actually got down to 23 degrees. Thank God for a good sleeping bag! Here are just a couple from the trip! Blessings. Jason

These first couple shots were actually all reflection shots... The water in the creek was so still

For some reason I really love this shot... It was actually Kyle's first time camping which is always fun.

This last shot is probably my favorite from the weekend... I love how the warm glow of the sun comes off of the ridgeline..

Christmas Party!

Last night Jen and I had about 30 people at our house (keep in mind that we have seating for like 12 between the living room and dining room) for our 2nd annual White Elephant Party. I figured I would break out the Leica and shoot a couple of some of our guests. I will try and let you know who they are with the photo below. Thanks to everyone who made it a blast (and sorry if for some reason we forgot to call :)

Blessings.

Jamie and his brother Casey (who is in from San Diego)

Leica M8!

So I had a little toy (Leica M8 + 50mm Summicron f2) come in the mail yesterday and I figured that I would post a couple photos from the new camera. So far I am really digging the camera and looking forward to shooting with it in the future. Here are just a couple. Blessings.

Festival Acadian

A while back I went with a friend (Ben Spell) to hang out and photograph a bit at Festival Acadian. This is an annual festival in Lafayette that is a blast and I finally got around to posting some images. Most of them are of this one guy who was really dancing it up. And yes, he is actually doing a flip in one of the photos (the whole time while dancing)! Blessings.
