The end of an era... 2504 Creative - The last party (and sale)

Even as I am sitting here writing this I can hardly believe it. Just under 3 years ago I was fortunate to start sharing an office with two great friends and businesses that I respect & admire greatly. The last three years have been an amazing season with friends, clients that have become friends, community, and business. Now it is time for a new season. The three of us are all headed in different directions with business and life. I couldn't be more excited for everyone (and myself). Life will never be the same because of the last 3 years and for that I am eternally grateful.

We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the last 3 years we have had together other than to throw a PARTY.

So here is where you come in... Next Friday, April 6th (yes Good Friday) we will be having our last party as 2504 Creative. A way to say thanks for everything that everyone has done for us over the last 3 years, have some coffee, share some laughs, and celebrate the community that we have had here. It will be from 6-8p and we will be having coffee/snacks. I hope that you can join us. I am including the invite below...

Acadiana Rescue Foundation of Louisiana (ARF-LA) fundraiser shoot this Saturday!

 I just wanted to share some info for an upcoming fund raising shoot that I  am involved with this coming Saturday. We are doing a fundraiser for ARF-LA which rescues stray, abandoned, & surrendered pet and finds loving homes for them. I have two rescued dogs of my own so this is something that is near and dear to my heart... Please bring your pet out on Saturday and make a small donation to this great cause!

Moving Offices!!!

I just wanted to put up a quick post as we are right in the middle of moving into our new office. I am super excited about the new place and can't wait to share some pictures (the before and after will blow you away)! For the next couple (and last couple) of days we are pretty much living out of boxes, so I may be slightly behind on email from the last week. Thanks again for all of your patience and support in allowing me to take this step forward!

Suzanne Perron Gowns & Brides.com competition!

I have been shooting a bit for my good friend and gown designer Suzanne Perron, finishing up a project that will turn into a book published by LSU press. Needless to say, it has been amazing to work on and I was so honored that she chose me to work with her. A couple of weeks ago she called me ecstatic that one of her gowns had made it to the finals for a brides.com competition. This past week we had the chance to photograph the gown again and I just wanted to post a link to the competition. Hannah Stuart - City Club Wedding Coordinator

You might recognize Hannah's name from my recommended vendors page as she was previously the wedding coordinator at Townhouse Restaurant & Catering. She has since moved to City Club and I am super excited for her. She is an outstanding events coordinator (not to mention a great friend). Introducing Bethany!

I am sad to say, but Ben will be leaving at the end of the month to goto Hallmark Institute of Photography :( I have started to train my new Assistant/Second shooter and I figured that I would give her a formal introduction on the blog. Don't Box Us In Interview!

Parish to Parish is Live!

So first off let me say that I am really excited about this post... You might seen a couple "fine art" images that I posted a while back from a trip that Ben & I took just photographing for fun. Well... this has turned into a full blown project called "Parish to Parish." The whole idea behind the project is to artistically portray every parish in the state of Louisiana. Its the little things in life...

Last week seemed to fly by quicker than most, but I did want to post a couple photos of two small things that brought a little excitement to my week. The first is a new little personalized product that I just got which is a Jason Cohen Photography iPod shuffle... It is a regular 1GB iPod shuffle with my logo on the front and my website on the back. I had been wanting something really personalized a while back and I was so excited to get it (see pics below and let me know what you think)!

American Photo!!

So I received a copy of American Photo yesterday and it just happened to have one of my images in it under the Images of the Year Competition. I actually didn't know that I was going to be one of the finalist in the magazine and I was extremely surprised when I got it in yesterday. Anna & Daniel are Engaged!!

My good friend Daniel asked me to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend (now future wife) today and here are just a couple photos from that before I run off to a wedding. I was literally hiding in the bushes and it felt like I was some in some kind of top secret mission :) Congrats to Daniel and Anna!!! Blessings.

I was a vendor at a bridal show in Lafayette this weekend and just thought I would post a couple photos from my booth. The show was lots of fun and it was great to meet so many brides-to-be.
